kick it like BONN
Big news on Friday's NHK broadcast: The Japanese Soccer Team left for the World Cup setting up their training camp in Bonn. Pictures of Nakata and Takahara wearing gray suits and cool sunglasses, coach Zico accepting a carnation from a tiny Japanese flight attendant and the samurai blue entering their plane. Next, a romantic scene of quiet Bonn marketplace, the stands had already been taken away and the sun was setting behind the city hall. A Japanese journalist interviewed Bonners asking them for an encouraging comment: "toi, toi, toi" it was...頑張れ they say here and that's what they wanna hear!
What else do they (the Japanese) wanna hear? That the sausages are all ready grilled and the beer is cool and fresh - just waiting to be served to the thousands if not millions of Japanese tourists and most importantly soccer fans. Bonn seems to be all set for the tournament and for having another great party time, just like last year when millions of pilgrims gathered for the World Youth day. But this time - they are praying for the Trophee! They...the Brazilians, the Germans, the Japanese, the Dutch, the Cost Ricans and Brits, the French, Swedish and Czechs (など) - even soccer "freshmen" Australia - they are all seeking their chance.

So BONN it is - a place to go!
